(semi) live blogging the oscars, hour 2 + a few minutes

Okay, James Franco kinda cleaned up pretty nice. Almost makes up for the many times I saw him around UCLA looking like a hobo.

Is it now tradition that Beyoncé has to perform at all Oscar shows now? This is such a monumental waste of time, but I can't really hate on anything to do with musicals. Okay I take that back--the High School Musical 3 inclusion is embarassing. LMAO at Penelope Cruz's WTF face. Word, Penelope, word. LMAO even more at Baz Luhrman, who looks mildly embarrassed for having been credited for that.

Christopher Walken is the SHIT. That is all. Also Kevin Kline. Very nice, sad speech from Heath Ledger's family.

Oh God, is Bill Maher going to make stupid political remarks? All right, that could have been worse. OK, Man On Wire guy was pretty awesome.

Just wondering if Benjamin Button is gonna win all the consolation prizes tonight or if this is a setup for a huge upset later.
