es ist heiß

It's still 100 degrees outside but my room is about half-clean. I honestly can't believe how much stuff/junk I saved. I have found, amongst other things, letters from my French pen pal from freshman year of high school, postcards from middle school, my pogs (which, despite the fact they're POGS, I couldn't bring myself to throw away). Despite the alarming amount of useless junk I've accumulated over the years, I actually really enjoyed looking at all my old stuff. This is because I am unabashedly sentimental. Not so much in terms of personality but if anyone sends me anything--a letter, a birthday card, whatever--I will probably keep it forever. Maybe nostalgic is a better term.

I read my d-love notes from freshman year, which of course made me miss people. Then I read a couple Christmas cards from high school. Then I found a letter that I got in sixth grade from a childhood friend who moved away. She wrote that she was changing the spelling of her name to something trendier and she had this big crush on a boy named Jeff. Through the amazingness and creepiness of the internet, I now know she has a baby with a guy named Jeff. I wonder if it's the same person. After that it was just a slippery slope to sadtown so I had to stop.
