The fact that the East Coast gets to watch award shows live while I have to wait three hours for a tape-delayed broadcast even though the actual show is going on not 50 miles away from me, thus forcing me to have to avoid the internet for six hours in order to remain unspoiled yet still managing to get spoiled because I went on to BBC News (you'd think the British would care a little less) to check the headlines. And even then, the West Coast gets the bleeped-out, blacked-out (i.e. substantially less entertaining) version of the show.
That being said, as a shameless awards show lover, this years' Golden Globes were probably the most entertaining show they've had in a while. Ricky Gervais, multiple coke jokes, gratuitous shots of Ralph Fiennes, Kate Winslet blubbering her way to two GGs (love her), a slew of obscenities, Drew Barrymore's hair looking like she put her finger in a light socket...
Bring on the Oscars, please!
